Licenced welding
Licenced welding means that the company has an approved welding procedure which then is applied by an authorized welder, according to a pWPS. The welding test is then sent to a destructive test where it is examined whether the welding method is according to the requirements. When the welding method is approved it can be used for pressure vessel welding, for example.
The welder then performs a qualification test towards the various welding procedures where the weld itself is controlled by a third party for approval. When all these parts are approved the welder can proceed to constructing the product according to the welding book.
